Actual Explanation

OSNow.org has become the home for our raving about Open Source Software that we really like. We being a group of techs that use this stuff day in and day out, at work and at home, for profit and non-profit.

I must also say that the high ideals of the FOSS movement are not lost on us. We realize the word runs on paychecks - and organizations need to structure their business so that the techs in their employ are able to cash those checks. We have stories where that happened and it is amazing we are not bitter and mumbling..

Productivity is a function of Management. In our experience, stagnant wages are a failure of management more than of execution by technical staff. Open Source Software actually helps accelerate execution, leaving more in the budget for wages, benefits, etc. This is the best of both worlds - and why we are pushing this information out there.
