Firefox 3.1 is out, and some new and innovative addons have cropped up. I use these:

Fastdial

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5721
Fast Dial replaces "about:blank" page with a panel of thumbnails of your favorite sites. Click on an empty cell, assign a site URL, click OK - a thumbnail will be generated for a site. You can also add sites opened in browser or existing bookmarks by right-clicking them and choosing "Add to Fast Dial" from context menu. By checking "Group" checkbox in thumbnail properties you can create groups of nested thumbnails.

You can change thumbnail's position by drag-n-dropping it. (Hold Ctrl while dragging to move thumbnail into a group.) Left click on a thumbnail title opens "Properties" dialog. Middle click on thumbnail title runs thumbnail refresh. Alt+number keyboard shortcut opens assigned site. If you move mouse over thumbnail's top, a panel of graphic buttons appears. To view zoomed image press left mouse button and hold it for a moment. You can customize Fast Dial page colors & font in Preferences.

Colorful Tabs

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1368
Colors every tab in a different color and makes them easy to distinguish while beautifying the overall appearance of the interface. An essential...

Image Zoom

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/139
Adds right-click zoom functionality for images

Easily zoom in, zoom out, fit image to screen or set custom zoom on individual images within a web page. All this can be done by using the context menu or a combination of mouse buttons and scroll wheel. Handy to see the finer details of smaller pics or to make very large pics fit within your screen

IE Tab (Windows only)

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419
Embedding Internet Explorer in tabs of Mozilla/Firefox. Have a banking site that uses ActiveX objects? Open it "inside" of Firefox! Can be accessed with right click, or whole domain can be white listed to automatically use IE rendering engine. Does NOT fix security problems of IE in anyway, just makes visiting those sites painless.

ScreenGrab

http://screengrab.org
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1146
Screengrab saves entire webpages as images (JPG, PNG).

It will save what you can see in the window, the entire page, just a selection, a particular frame... basically it saves webpages as images.

The following little keywords are at the request of those who can't remember the name ScreenGrab! and want searches to work. It takes screen shots, screenshots - that is, shots, of web pages.

Web Developer

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/60
Right Click and Toolbar access to tools particularly useful to web developers.

FireBug

http://getfirebug.com/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843
Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page... Some overlap with Web Developer toolbar.
